After an exciting, busy, and adventerous year, I am excited to launch my new business, Rebecca Niccole Weddings. The decision to take on this career path came with much prayer, support, and help. I have invested hours of my time into research of the wedding industry, planning, and coordinating, and I have no doubt that with my perserverence I will succeed.
Many people have asked what interested me to step into the wedding industry and my first response is from my own experience- my wedding. So here's my story...
Daniel and I got engaged on May 22, 2012 and spent two and a half years planning one of the most important days of our lives. We knew we wanted a long engagement so that I could finish school because honestly, I don't know if I would have finished once becoming Mrs. Dey. Many people thought we were crazy to have such a long engagement, but they couldn't have been more wrong. With such a lengthy engagement, it gave us time to find every perfect vendor, design every little detail, and have time to work out any kinks that came our way.
Throughout the wedding process, I continued to find reasons why the wedding industry was the right industry for me.
- I am very thourough with everything that I do; I made a huge A-Z binder with everything we wanted in our wedding (Vendors loved this).
- At a time when wedding planning is very stressful, it was my escape. I enjoyed the "stressful" part of being engaged. I loved answering e-mails about upcoming wedding engagements, looking at many different invitation options, and the moments that we worried we weren't going to get the vendor we wanted.
- The design aspect- Many brides have a very small idea of what they would like for their wedding to look like, but I had the entire event planned out. Planning to me is like Starbucks to a coffee lover- exciting!
Hopefully, this gives you a small insight into why the wedding industry is where my heart resides. I am excited to keep this blog up-to-date with Rebecca Niccole Weddings, wedding trends, and planning tips.
Happy Engagement, Happy Planning
